Aloha Anne’s offers wedding gowns and wedding aloha shirts, bridesmaid dresses and matching men’s aloha shirts, as well as some accessories, which are more outdoor friendly than your traditional gowns and gear. 

Aloha Anne’s is located in Maui where many people come to get married each year and most often do so on the beach or near the beach. In the excitement of wedding preparations, the difficulties that can be present with outdoor weddings are sometimes not considered. Traditional wedding gowns are usually made of many layers of nylon and polyester fabrics which are very hot to wear when you’re standing in the sun or in the shade which is still eighty degrees. Some of those fabrics can be such things as satin and acetate linings which are forever stained if water of any kind touches them. Dirt and grass stains do not come out of many of these fine fabrics either, forever ruining a dress you might have wanted to save for another generation. Styles are often very full and if the wind picks up a little, as it does every afternoon on Maui, skirts are lifted and thrown into the wearer’s face as well as making picture taking more difficult. The traditional 3-piece men’s tuxedo is like a fiery furnace outside in ninety-degree weather!

Why not get married the Hawaiian way? In Hawaiian print fabrics in cotton blends, using no net, and when lined are lined with a cotton blend batiste—very soft and cool. In dresses which can be washed to get out salt and dirt and be worn again if desired. In styles with skirts less full to make them wind friendly. With trains when used that are made incorporating notions to make them easily transportable. Men wear Hawaiian aloha shirts tucked in or out—no jacket. When tucked in the traditional Hawaiian waist sash which ties at the left hip is used. (It’s like a cummerbund with ties and comes in solid colors of your choosing.) No shoes are needed (heels sink into the grass and sand) as the dresses are cut slightly shorter to allow for a bare foot or flat sandal.

The bride and groom have gowns and dresses made of white-on-white Hawaiian print fabrics. Bridesmaids and their escorts can choose matching dresses and shirts in Hawaiian prints of various colors. Women’s ankle bracelets and garters are also sold. When you call us we’ll get your measurements from you and your style, fabric and color choices and get going.
